Diana, this is such a beautiful and open-hearted piece. Thank you so much for writing it and sharing it. It really touched me and made me feel less alone. You articulate shared experiences in a really thoughtful and relatable, direct and honest way. So many thoughts, feelings and dilemmas I resonate with. Love it. Among other things, I really like how you describe your sister's experience of being dissatisfied and pulled between taking part in religious community and being outside it, partly because of looking to rising generations. This has been one of the most painful things for me as an adult so far, and a problem I can't solve. I love the twin theme and experience here and how you describe it and also the moment when you explain what it is like to visit siblings with kids.

Just loved this. Diana, you're a gifted writer and picture painter--the gratitude for the shared history and connection, the sometimes awkward and painful separateness that arises as we grow older and, with seeming inevitability, apart. What a beautiful portrait of the ache and durability of shared history with your sister. To your credit, I felt that I could relate to you both.
