“I observe a growing effort among Latter-day Saints toward a more Christ-centered Easter. This includes a greater and more thoughtful recognition of Palm Sunday and Good Friday as practiced by some of our Christian cousins. We might also adopt appropriate Christ-centered Easter traditions found in the cultures and practices of countries worldwide.” —
The primary kiddos in our ward each came home today with a big envelope full of goodness, including their own palm branch!
I love that these articles are including music and beautiful art. When my own children were very young I played Handel’s Messiah pretty much nonstop during the whole Easter season. At the time they sang “OH!! we like sheep” like goofy little shepherds, instead of understanding how much we ARE like sheep when we go astray. Fifty years later I still choke up to realize how many of the passages in Messiah are in the first person in the scriptures , such as “Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto MY sorrow” and “ I looked for some to take pity on me but there was none.” How can we ever worship and love Him enough?
Thank you for these wonderful Holy Week treasures.
