I appreciate how your essay makes me feel like I fit it, in all my weirdness. I have a new calling, and it takes a while to find your footing sometimes. But reaching out in love is a wonderful way to covenant.

This splendid essay reminds us that neither family nor friendship are sufficient to produce love. Love is an existential decision—like an oath which is always beyond one’s capacity to understand it fully because we change but the oath holds firm. Family and friendships (can) produce joyful experiences with the oath of love, but it is the strange act that our Gods have found to be most desirable . . . so far.
