I am having lunch tomorrow with two friends. One has a son married to a beautiful and righteous Black woman who has felt racial discrimination in the heart of Utah. The other is distraught because her granddaughter is dating a Black man. When I pointed out to her that I have beautiful dark skinned grandchildren she brushed it off saying that my son-in-law is Polynesian. I’m not going to let this destroy our friendship but I may just keep this wonderful article handy.
I embrace with all my heart the heaviness and sorrow this brings upon my discipleship. Thank you for this beautiful, honest, and hopeful article.
