On another subject. we met and chatted for a bit after your presentation at the last Storymaker's Conference. Your missionary daughter had served for a while in our ward at Wadsworth, Ohio. She really was a terrific missionary and the couple of times she spoke from the podium she quoted lines from your collection, Let Me Drown with Moses. My wife had bought me that book just prior to your daughter's arrival in our ward and I fully accepted the happy synchronicity of that coincidence. I particularly found appealing the Urdu influence on your work that you shared in the book's introduction - one more culture's literature I will have to explore. I also appreciate an observation you made at your Storymaker's presentation in asking the question - "Why poetry and more narrowly, why LDS poetry?" You answered, "Because this moment in time should be recorded and preserved." I whole-heartedly agree and have found the observation both stimulating and motivating for any poet who is LDS. Thanks.

Just made the correction to the text Doug. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem!
Thanks for the edit efforts and I hate to be a bother, but it's still not quite right.
The line is supposed to read:
"one is to fifty as flower is to moon."
The post as it now reads has replaced the word "as" with the word "and". The word "as" is the correct word.
