COMING SOON: DEIDRE GREEN AT THE COMPASS NOV 4TH
Courageous Hope: Kierkegaard’s Vision of Spiritual Joy
Join us for a conversation with Deidre Green about her new book Kierkegaard’s Visions for Christian Life. Drawing on Kierkegaard’s religious reflections on the lily and the bird, his maternal metaphors for God and Christ, and his generative readings of three women from the Bible, Green develops a theology that attends to the centrality of joy and flourishing, openness to the divine and others, and communion with specific beloved individuals for Christian life.
This book reconfigures the Christian virtues of faith, hope, and love, as well as the joy that it produces, in ways uniquely conceived by Kierkegaard that enable us to navigate our current world of suffering and uncertainty more productively and powerfully.
WHEN: Nov 4th, 7:30pm
WHERE: The Compass Gallery, 250 W Center St, Provo
