This is an incredible piece. It conveys the spirit of your Dad's life and your compassion for him beautifully. I love the approach you have taken towards his life, esp. turning toward his childhood, his war injuries and other suffering. I think this essay will help many feel less alone. Grateful to have an essay that is about a human fathers rather than Father God on Father's Day
