I am going to tell you about a kid in my class named Parker.

Parker was trouble.

He threw an eraser so hard at Willow’s belly she had to go to the school nurse; he ate Sara’s birthday doughnuts (the whole box! While we were at recess! Sara was crying her face off! They were Krispy Kremes!), and he told Ms. Long that she had a long bum.

He said it loud. In front of all of us. And she got red and she said, “That is not appropriate,” and he said, “neither is your long bum.”

Everyone laughed and he had to go to the principal’s office.

I decided very early in the year that I was going to stay far far far away from Parker. I was never going to be in his field trip group; I was never going to be at his table for science; I was never going to be on lunch duty with him.
