This is beautiful and deeply resonates with experiences I have had as a medical provider in the emergency department. Thank you for articulating both the complexities and the reassurances of trusting in God while seeing death and pain. I will be re-reading this often.

Love this. If we truly believe in eternal progression, then there will always be something that we are learning but are incapable of at that time. I don't know exactly how that factors into God's power and everything, but there's something freeing and enervating in that. Thank you!

Thank you for this and your beautiful piece on Grace (which speaks deeply to my own often heavy heart and the incredible way that it somehow heightens my joy in my children and other loved ones in a difficult season of life).

I came across both pieces today and shared this one with my father who is a retired medical oncologist because your navigation of the tensions between our trust in a loving god and the many miracles that do not happen reminded me of similar conversations we have had over the years.

Later, I finished reading it and came across your story of Ms. Garcia’s miracle, and was touched by the timing. Today my father decided to transition to hospice care. Also today I shared your story that referenced one woman’s miracle which was built on his own scientific inquiries in the 1970s-90s in the field of immunology for treating cancers. It feels like a tender mercy today for him to get to read about her recovery

As a fellow solo parent, I am grateful that you choose to write and share your faith and your journey. Thank you for this gift.
