When I was a BYU professor, I’d introduce students to abductive reasoning in our science and religion unit, showing them how both fields employ some of the same rational processes, and abduction is chief among them. I’m drafting an essay that considers abduction in the context of one’s spiritual relationship to experience, whether conversion, reversion, inversion, retroversion, aversion (or any other relevant “-version” compound).
