End: The ultimate point or thing at which one aims or directs his views; the object intended to be reached or accomplished by any action or scheme; purpose intended; scope; aim; drift.
Wonderful, thought provoking, and spot on. Thank you. I’ve also been thinking a lot about what it means to endure to the end and so Elder Bednar’s talk also really opened my eyes. After reading his talk again it dawned on me that Christ has given Himself the title of The Beginning and the End. He is the end to which we are enduring. The very purpose and ultimate goal of our existence.
This article comes in at the perfect time when I need a lift on how to help my family on the spiritual path. Enduring to the end is not so much about grinding and ploughing our way until we die; it is more about reaching the ultimate aim - to become like Him. Christ is the author - and finisher - of our faith, and that is because he is the “end”, or the “ultimate goal”, of the gospel. It will take some time to do the paradigm shift, but I think with this article (which quotes Elder Bednar’s April 2026 GC Talk), I should be able to see the trials clearly and learn how to deal with them, with the new aim in mind.

This is so beautiful and life-changing. Thank you for your words.
