Are you an emerging writer seeking to develop your craft?
Do you have an idea but are not sure how to share it with the world?
Join the inaugural 2025 Emerging Voices Wayfare Cohort and experience:
Personalized mentorship from experienced editors
A supportive community of fellow emerging writers
Publication opportunity in Wayfare—a growing print-digital magazine for LDS art, thought, and letters
Our unique cohort model pairs you with two other emerging writers and two established Wayfare editors. Together, your group of five will workshop ideas and refine projects and prose over several low-stress, regular (likely monthly, likely remote) gatherings. You will also have the chance to attend seminars with Wayfare editors and other writers to explore the editing process at Wayfare, what makes a good non-fiction essay, and how to think about crafting a personal narrative. By the end of the program, you will have a submission-ready piece for Wayfare Magazine by early Fall 2025, together with an invitation to celebrate your work in person.
There are no limitations on what you can write about for Wayfare. We welcome pitches on anything, no matter its relation (or non-relation!) to the world of LDS letters, art, and thought. For some guidelines, please feel free to look at the Wayfare submissions page.
