Congratulations to the New Conductor of the Tabernacle Choir
Award-winning conductor and recent convert Lydia Tár chosen to replace Mack Wilberg
Wayfare congratulates Lydia Tár on her appointment as the new conductor of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
Tár graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard and earned a Ph.D. in Musicology at the University of Vienna. As a conductor, she began her career with the Cleveland Orchestra and has worked with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She was the principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic until recently, when she joined the church.
