We have been so concerned that members withdrawing from Church activity, as our children have done, find themselves excluded from loving relationships with their families or friends. Gideon has given voice to our sorrow at seeing our children choose a different path through life, but also the delight for who they have become and gratitude that we still experience joy in their companionship and continued hope for our eternal relationships. That association must also be pursued even when a different course is chosen by friends.
