Thanks for this much needed correction. For LDS theology TRUST is never finished because even the Gods who make promises are FREE to break them. Jesus cry of forsakenness is the great symbol of tragic freedom that is the condition for the relational GIFT of love that is free of threat, bribe or (LDS radical belief) necessity even for Gods. Indeed we would not have language of covenant or divine promise if it were impossible to break promises. Do we abandon our love for God if God breaks a promise as a less than perfect lover? What kind of lovers are we if we will not forgive God? We are all ever-perfecting Gods joined in a family that can hurt each other, but trusting we will not, we live hopeful love together without a ‘block universe’ of certainty. So Yes to the robust term trust! It should replace the ritual and theoretical and pious old word faith at least for a century or so.
